what awaits...

Ready to see these crazies tomorrow.

On the Santa Barbara bucket list for the next ten days:
  • Celebrate Santa Barbara's Fiesta like there's no tomorrow. I wish I had pictures to show you what this truly means. Maybe better off that I don't? Lots of dancing in the streets. Lotta confetti eggs sold by the crate. The best street tacos north of the border. More dancing in the streets. Unwanted high school reunions in dive bars...
  • Cook for my family every day, because that's one of my favorite love languages.
  • Meet up with a fellow blogger and newfound e-pen-pal (we know, we wish there was a cooler way to say that too).
  • Get a tattoo finally...whhaaaaaa??
  • Pick blueberries. Eat blueberries. Finally not pay $$$ for blueberries.
  • Reinact this blog post in every single way...since SHE'LL BE IN SANTA BARBARA FOR THE WEEKEND TOO!
  • Run on the beach with this little piece of work
  • Love on these sisters.
  • Tan.
Go do something great with your week.
Read some poetry while you're at it. This one helped me out today: The Certainty of Numbers.
Listen to this remix of Pumped Up Kicks. I promise it won't make your ears bleed like some other remixes.
Make this Rainier cherry mojito. And then make me one.
Gawk at what I like to call floor porn, and then get upset that you have linoleum when you could have these Herringbone wood floors made with reclaimed French Oak. For serious.

The Way Much

A dear friend of mine—Geoff—is in a radically hope-charged and talented folk/acoustic band called The Way Much. They're on a crazy, whirlwind tour of the States right now.
Being the sweetheart of a guy that he is, Geoff sent me a thoughtful text from the town of Madeline, CA, and that's when I found out they'd be in Seattle that next week.
This begged an obvious question:
Play at my house?!?
They said yes.

They are such good people.
It might not get any better than a summer backyard concert in Seattle.
Thank you for letting us be a stop on your journey.
All the best, to The Way Much.

The following cell phone video footage is from another Seattle house show, but it gives a small taste...

baby, you're a firework

Best friend points to those of you who heard K. Perry's voice upon reading this post title.
What are some of your amazing Fourth of July weekend plans?! Mine is full of BBQs, new friends, sparklers, and hopefully this cake.

Here's a song that I immediately slipped into my summer playlist:
Milo Greene — "1957"
A great one to sing along to while you gaze at these images from some of my favorite photographers that just scream summmmmmer...

Fremont Fair

I'm about a week (two?) late in posting these photos, but they warrant some blog love, so here is my day spent day-drinking, Thai-food eating, Hot Bodies-watching and Solstice-celebrating at the overtly ridiculous 40th-Annual Fremont Fair.

If I could make love to a voice, I choose his.

Papa Smurf like.

Britta the hand model.

Kris Orlowski (love!) and the lovely Allie (not yet tipsy) perfecting her 'candid clap.'

summer came

There goes my once-a-year chance to do a true Summer Solstice post...
New *SUMMER* blog header soon. I know you're all checking every day like, "Girl, come on, this is what I woke up for..."
I know this.
It'll happen.
I've been busy day-drinking at the Fremont Fair and getting my first sunburn of the summer.
And right now I haaaaavvvve to go enjoy some Civil Wars at the Triple Door.
All of which I will post about. Tomorrow.

Luh ya!

first seattle summer

This post is about three things:
  • Being a photographer is a great way to get out of playing the one sport that didn't let you on the high school team as a freshman.
  • I have friends in Seattle. And they are all beautiful people.
  • The sun does shine here. And it was over 70 degrees.
